Author's Note: The following story is a rewrite of an older story of mine from 2022 called Aimkid: Lost Animation. Enjoy! Also, special thanks to Score the Data Rot for helping out with the ideas and the story in general.

ALA Rewrite Screencap

The screencap of the Fuzzy Cat frame.

Many people have probably heard of Aimkid; she has over 568,000 subscribers as I write this. Her animation style is unique and is popular for videos like Modify, My Trains, Spring Cleaning, Lifetime Achievement Award, and, of course, Soft Fuzzy Man, which feature cartoony and unique characters directly inspired by songs by the artist Lemon Demon. Sometimes, she uses other music for her short musical animations.

I could go on about the rest, even though her channel only has around 16 videos in total, but I think you get the point already. However, I am not here to simply ramble about the channel and bore anyone reading this. Instead, I want to talk about something I discovered related to it.

There exists an urban legend surrounding the viewers of Aimkid’s videos, and Aimkid herself seems reluctant to talk about it. The legend is obscured within the community, and there once was a fan channel called Aimkid Archives, which appeared to archive videos by her that were unlisted, privated, or hidden from the public eye.

Many people have attempted to recreate this channel, but none have succeeded in fully replicating it. You'll see why in a moment.

Now, I don’t remember the exact details of all the videos, but they seemed to feature uncut versions of animations and random content. Some were disturbing, such as one featuring the titular character from Modify. It looked like the same video but without the Lemon Demon music, only showing scenes referencing self-harm, with blood visible. Of course, it wasn’t shocking, as people have made fan creations featuring blood before, but I’ll just mention it briefly.

However, there was one video that caught my attention. It featured the two characters from the animation Lemon Demon - Soft Fuzzy Man (FAN ANIMATION), specifically the characters Fuzzy Cat (also known as Orange Cat to some) and Soft Fuzzy Man.

For clarity, I will be referring to the Orange Cat character as Fuzzy Cat throughout this post, as the names of these characters often confuse me, and I’m not sure what they’re supposed to be called.

This video was titled Soft Fuzzy Man’s Origin. If you’ve watched the original animation, it’s clear that Soft Fuzzy Man is a ghost, which is why I found this video interesting. According to many sources I read, Aimkid never went into detail about Soft Fuzzy Man’s origin, only mentioning that Soft Fuzzy Man is Dipshit. Yes, that’s actually their name.

I was curious to see what explanation the video would offer about Soft Fuzzy Man’s origin and how the character died. But the video turned out to be more disturbing than I had expected. The first thing that shocked me when I clicked on it was how different the art style was.

It looked nothing like the usual style Aimkid uses. It looked completely fan-made. But I could still tell who the characters were, and the art wasn’t sloppy—though simple, it was impressive.

As for the music, there was none. No song played in the background. I don’t recall Lemon Demon making a song specifically about the origin of Soft Fuzzy Man, except for the one simply called Soft Fuzzy Man. The only sound in the video was a buzzing noise, like it had been recorded on a tape. It felt more like a standard animation.

The video started with Fuzzy Cat standing in a room, quietly sobbing. The room was dark, with purple wallpaper, similar to the one in the animation where Fuzzy Cat and Soft Fuzzy Man appeared. Then, the cat revealed watery, slightly red eyes, still crying.

They sobbed, and something came out of their mouth, sounding shaky and stained:

“I… I never meant for this to happen… I… I didn’t… I couldn’t stop it.”

Fuzzy Cat stared at the ground, looking traumatized, as if they had witnessed something horrible. Then, it cut to what seemed to be a flashback. But before that, there was a split-second frame.

I rewound and paused at the right moment. It appeared to be Fuzzy Cat, but with a disturbing, insane grin, as if they had completely snapped before the frame cut to black, transitioning to the next scene.

I was trying to process what had just happened when the flashback began, which seemed normal at first but quickly took a messed-up turn.

The flashback started with a scene that looked typical—a simple interaction between Fuzzy Cat and Soft Fuzzy Man. It’s worth mentioning that Fuzzy Cat appeared happier than in the preview. They were in a room, talking to each other, but there was no audio in this scene.

Suddenly, Soft Fuzzy Man disappeared, leaving Fuzzy Cat alone, as if Soft Fuzzy Man were just a figment of Fuzzy Cat’s imagination. What followed was a scene I didn’t expect but, at the same time, didn’t shock me at first.

In this scene, the boss from the animation Lifetime Achievement Award appeared—but he was dating Soft Fuzzy Man. While this didn’t strike me as odd since I could tell it was fan-made (since Aimkid depicted Fuzzy Cat and Soft Fuzzy Man as a couple), I wasn’t too surprised by this inclusion. Shipping characters is common in fandoms, after all.

I could only think that making the boss date Soft Fuzzy Man was an interesting idea for a fan narrative. Anyway, the scene played out innocently at first—awkward and cringe-worthy, depending on how you look at it, but still innocent.

The scene started in a decently furnished living room, with purple walls similar to the previous scene. The boss sat on a chair, smiling warmly at Soft Fuzzy Man. But something about it felt forced, and Soft Fuzzy Man looked uncomfortable.

“You know, I just want what’s best for you. You are mine; you are mine to take care of,” said the boss.

Soft Fuzzy Man sat there, fidgeting with their hands, clearly uncomfortable with what was being said.

“Uh, I don’t know if this is healthy. I feel like I am losing myself.”

The boss’s expression subtly shifted. He leaned forward and wrapped his hands around Soft Fuzzy Man in a creepy, obsessive manner. The scene quickly became uncomfortable, resembling a toxic relationship.

Now, I could tell this scene was trying to depict how Soft Fuzzy Man was when he was alive, but he didn’t look like the Dipshitcharacter. However, this was a fan-made project, so what did I expect?

The boss spoke again, still being obsessive toward Soft Fuzzy Man.

“Don’t talk like that. You’re overthinking things. You are exactly where you need to be! Don’t question this.”

The camera zoomed in slightly on Soft Fuzzy Man’s face, and I could see fear in their eyes.

“I just… I don’t know if I can do this anymore,” they said.

After Soft Fuzzy Man spoke, the boss initially smiled, but then his face slowly turned to a frown.

Despite the serious tone, I couldn’t help but laugh a little at the awkwardness of it all. But then, my laughter quickly turned to horror as the boss, holding an alcohol bottle, smashed it in half and grabbed Soft Fuzzy Man by the arm, holding the broken bottle to their neck.

“W… What? Don’t act like you have a choice because you don’t. You’re mine.”

Soft Fuzzy Man’s eyes widened as the door opened, revealing Fuzzy Cat. Fuzzy Cat looked shocked by the scene, and Soft Fuzzy Man looked relieved to see them, signaling for them to help.

However, the boss noticed and turned to face Fuzzy Cat, now in a full rage.

“Who is that?”

No answer came from Soft Fuzzy Man, and the boss, in a fit of anger, slashed Soft Fuzzy Man’s mouth with the broken bottle.

The camera zoomed in on Fuzzy Cat, twitching and tearing up, and then grinning in a mix of anger and insanity as they shouted:

“Back. Off. Now! Soft Fuzzy Man does not love you; he loves me. You’re scaring them, and we’ve loved each other longer than you have! Back off, you bastard!”

The boss stared at Fuzzy Cat, then immediately lunged at them, causing Fuzzy Cat to collapse on the floor.

What followed was a brutal murder scene, showing the boss gutting and killing Soft Fuzzy Man in the room, with many shots of the gruesome scene. The animation was smooth, “flashy,” and much more disturbing than Aimkid’s usual work.

The scene cut back to the present, showing the boss staring at Soft Fuzzy Man’s decaying corpse. The camera zoomed in on the boss’s enraged face before cutting to Fuzzy Cat, who picked up the other half of the bottle and smashed it in the boss’s head, killing him.

“THAT IS WHAT YOU GET, YOU BASTARD!”

Fuzzy Cat stood there, staring at Soft Fuzzy Man’s corpse before continuing to sob.

“I couldn’t stop it. I could’ve done something. I couldn’t save them.”

The sobbing grew louder as Fuzzy Cat crawled over to Soft Fuzzy Man’s body, holding it close and sobbing into it.

“He never deserved this. None of us did.”

The camera zoomed out slightly, showing the entire room shrouded in darkness. Fuzzy Cat’s sobs grew louder before fading out.

Then, Fuzzy Cat was shown standing near Soft Fuzzy Man’s tombstone. As they walked away, still sobbing, they spoke:

“M… Maybe watching the sunrise could make me feel better.”

The scene cuts to Fuzzy Cat staring into the distance, away from the tombstone. Then, suddenly, they heard something similar, which caused Fuzzy Cat’s ears to perk up.

“Hello, you seem down; what’s wrong?”

A ghostly pink furry arm reached toward Fuzzy Cat, and they slowly turned around. It was Soft Fuzzy Man, but as a ghost.

Fuzzy Cat started to sob, not just from guilt but from happiness at even seeing Soft Fuzzy Man again. But Fuzzy Cat spoke again.

“I wish I could hug you, but you’re a ghost, and—”

Fuzzy Cat suddenly stopped as he hugged them. Soft Fuzzy Man didn't go through them at all.

“Go on; I am here for you. It’s okay… hug me back.”

Fuzzy Cat was able to hug them again as they teared up once more, both of them looking up at the sun.

"Remember, dear, you will always see me and feel me. I am not gone. Never was. I will be here for you.”

I teared up a bit after watching the video end with them staring into the sun together. But eventually, I stopped tearing up and questioned something: Why was this animation referencing murder and abusive relationships? I did some digging into this video and asked people about it on Reddit, providing a link to the video. Nobody knew who made it because there was no credit in the animation itself, until I received a message from somebody there.

They wished to remain anonymous but wanted me to address them as Kaitlyn, and as for their girlfriend, I will refer to her as Jane, as Kaitlyn recommended I keep her anonymous too. Here is their message, word for word:

"Hello, sir, I am the original creator of that video you saw.

You see, I noticed you needed an explanation for the dark themes in the video. But first, thank you for complimenting my animation skills and art style. I don’t know how that video ended up in the Aimkid Archives, as I deleted it a long time ago, around the time Aimkid herself was making the Soft Fuzzy Man animation. I was ashamed of what I created.

In 2011, and to start off, I am a lesbian, so I was dating a girl around that time. But I was forced into a relationship with another man. I felt uncomfortable being around him, and he even tried to push me into having sexual activities with him, which I didn’t want, but he forced me into it.

When 2012 came (around the time Aimkid made the Aimkid is BACK video), my girlfriend found out about what was happening. She didn’t feel angry at me but attempted to call out the man for it, similar to how the boss was treating Soft Fuzzy Man and when Fuzzy Cat attempted to call him out in the animation. My supposed boyfriend became obsessive, smashed a bottle, and stabbed her with it.

Soon enough, I attempted to save my girlfriend by fighting back and pushing the man off the balcony of our house. The man eventually passed away from the fall, and I drove my girlfriend to the hospital. However, she didn’t make it and passed away due to blood loss.

I developed PTSD afterward, and it eventually led to me having the idea for this animation. I created it to help me cope with what I witnessed. But if you are curious about how I am doing now, I am doing surprisingly well, at least somewhat, since I stayed away from people and locked myself away from the outside world.

At first, I was contemplating suicide, but I chose not to and decided to create this animation instead to vent. But like I said about the Soft Fuzzy Man video, or at least around the time the video got popular, I deleted the video immediately, as I am haunted by what I created in the past.

Thanks for understanding. If you know how to get in contact with the owner of that channel, tell them to take that video down. Also, I just checked it out while I am typing this. You remember that bloody and violent Modify video? I created it to test my animation on my old channel that I don’t use anymore; ask them to take that down as well."

I said okay and then checked the channel for any ways to contact the owner. I couldn’t use the comments, and I found nothing related to Discord anywhere until I noticed that the channel had an email, so I contacted them through there.

I didn’t get a response, but it was clear that they had read it, as they took the videos down just now, only leaving the normal videos that weren’t disturbing to watch untouched.
